About the Department
The Department of Chemistry is one of the main departments in the College of Science. It aims to prepare qualified scientific cadres who possess comprehensive knowledge in the various branches of chemistry, such as organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, and biochemistry. The department seeks to integrate the theoretical and practical aspects through hands-on laboratory education and to develop students’ abilities in scientific thinking and systematic analysis, thereby qualifying them to contribute to the fields of research, education, industry, and the environment.
Department Objectives
Providing students with a solid foundation in the concepts and various branches of chemistry. Developing practical and theoretical chemical analysis skills. Enhancing the research and creative capabilities of students and faculty members. Employing modern technologies and instruments in education and scientific research. Contributing to solving environmental, industrial, and medical problems through chemical applications. Encouraging scientific collaboration with local and international departments and research institutions. Preparing graduates who are capable of pursuing postgraduate studies and competing in the labor market.
Department Vision
To be a distinguished scientific department in education, research, and chemical applications that keeps pace with scientific and technological developments and contributes to community service and sustainable development.
