In the presence of Prof. Dr. Khzaal Fahti Zaidan Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education at Alnoor University, the Department of English held a scientific workshop on Tuesday, 31/3/2026, entitled (Words as a Weapon: An Analysis of Threats and Cyber Extortion in the Digital Age), which was supervised and presented in its sessions by. Assistant teacher Abeer Abdul Qadir Ahmed,The workshop addressed the importance of language as a tool that may be used negatively in the digital space, highlighting methods of online threats and electronic blackmail, as well as mechanisms for analyzing the discourse used in such crimes, in addition to explaining ways of raising awareness and prevention. The workshop also witnessed interaction from attendees through questions and contributions, which enriched the discussion and deepened understanding of this vital topic.
