Alnoor University concludes the Quranic competitions for memorization and recitation, as well as the electronic competition, and announces the results
In the presence of Professor Dr. Yaseen Taha Alhajjar, President of Alnoor University, Sheikh Dr. Fathi Taha Ahmed, Head of the Scientific Committee for Qur’anic Activities in Nineveh, and Dr. Bashar Mahmoud Ali, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, Alnoor University held a central closing ceremony on Tuesday morning, 10 March 2026, for the annual Qur’anic competitions, which included memorization and recitation contests in addition to an electronic competition. The ceremony was attended by the university president’s assistants, the scientific advisor, members of the relevant committees from the Sunni Endowment Office and Alnoor University, as well as a number of lecturers and students. The event included speeches delivered by the Dean of the College of Education at Alnoor University, the Head of the Scientific Committee for Qur’anic Activities in Nineveh, and Sheikh Mohammed Alassaf. They emphasized the importance of such activities in promoting religious awareness and consolidating Qur’anic values among students. The ceremony also featured an electronic draw, with the first prize being a free Umrah pilgrimage, in addition to a second draw that included four valuable prizes, amid an atmosphere of joy and interaction among attendees. At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the members of the organizing committees, and the results of the Fourth Annual Al-Noor Competition for Memorization and Recitation were announced. For his part, Dr. Bashar Mahmoud Ali, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, addressed the audience, affirming the firm and consistent direction of Al-Noor University and its commitment to reinforcing an authentic religious dimension alongside its scientific and academic mission. He noted that these competitions are part of the university’s efforts to support Qur’anic activities and strengthen students’ connection with the Holy Qur’an.
