Alnoor University celebrates the victory of the poet and novelist Saad Mohammed in the Katara Arabic Narrative Award

In the presence of Professor Dr. Bashar Mahmoud Ali, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Alnoor University, the university, represented by the Department of Arabic Language in the College of Education, celebrated the poet and novelist Saad Muhammad for winning the Katara Prize for Arabic Narrative for the year 2025, on Sunday, October 26, 2025
The ceremony was inaugurated prof. Dr. Khazal Fathy Zidane Hassan The Dean of the College of Education, in a speech in which he expressed the university’s pride and esteem for the achievements of Iraqi innovators, and the role of literature in elevating cultural taste
After that, the critic Dr. Jassim Khalaf Alyas offered an in-depth critical reading that addressed the most prominent artistic aspects of the winning novel and its significance in the Arab narrative scene
After that, the honoree talked about his experience in writing the novel, the stages of his participation in the Katara Prize, and how he managed to win it amid wide Arab competition
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Bashar Mahmoud presented a Certificate of Excellence to the honoree, followed by Professor Dr. Khazal Fathi Zidan awarding him the University Shield in recognition of his creativity and literary distinction.
